Harmonisation of State Aid Schemes in Serbia with EU rules
Harmonisation of existing state aid schemes in Serbia was the topic of a workshop held by the Support to the Commission for State Aid Control project for members of the Commission, on Wednesday, 2 June 2021.
Project experts analysed more than 70 laws in Serbia and compiled a list of 44 state aid schemes that have to be harmonised with EU rules. Harmonisation of existing schemes is one of Serbia’s obligations set by the European Commission as opening benchmarks for the Negotiation Chapter 8 (Competition Policy).
The Action Plan for the alignment with European Union acquis was presented at the workshop, and special attention was paid to fiscal schemes as a priority in the alignment process.
On behalf of the project, the project Team Lleader Radmila Mihić and Key Legal Expert Šefika Kurtagić participated in the workshop.
